Last years show 'Cinderella'
The annual pantomime has been a part of Shepton Mallet's social calendar for the past four decades and last year, when the group had to move to St Paul's School, some felt this would be adversely affect the experience and chose not to go. The magic of the show and the reaction of the audience filled every last square inch of the room, but some empty seats were evident early on in the week.
While the self funding group depend upon support from the community, it was those who missed the show who really lost out; the School hall was wonderfully presented and comfortable, while superb lighting really gave the show the theatrical edge which might have been lost by the move from the Centre/Amulet/Academy building.
The message is therefore, don't miss out this year! Tickets go on sale from January 25th at The Club Lounge in Paul Street for what promises to be a wonderful half-term night (or afternoon) out. Family tickets for two adults and two children are the best value at £30, although a single childs ticket is £8, £10 for adults.
Jo Jewell is stepping up as director this year, having been involved in the group since she was eight, while Carol Howarth is the show's producer once again.
