Avon and Somerset Police are reiterating that nuisance or 'antisocial' behavior is unacceptable.  Police are reminding us about the '101' number we can now dial for non urgent matters, and point out that non-emergency does not mean that the issues reported will not be taken seriously.

"We will listen, take action and let you know what is being done to address the issue" say police in a statement in their latest newsletter.  An example is given where in Highbridge and Bedminster Down, the nuisance caused by mini-moto bikes was identified as a priority by local residents.

PCSO Michelle Kennedy is a member of the Highridge Beat Team and has been dealing with riders who make life a misery for local residents and park users.  According to PCSO Kennedy, "I spend a lot of my time patrolling the common areas of my patch and finding out the identities of the riders who flout the law by riding these unsafe machines around pedestrians and playing children."   She adds that "last week I dealt with one of the offenders and his mini-motor bike has now been seized by police and will be crushed."

If there are matters you would feel more comfortable discussing in person, watch this site for details of upcoming beat surgeries.
