Fabulous News! Wells Emporium is coming to town
A second business from Wells is coming to town soon! following Goodfellows. Wells Emporium were heading towards a new location in Cheddar but have decided to join us in Shepton Mallet to make it a destination for interiors, antiques, vintage and artisan. They will have a new name 'Somerset Antiques and Interiors' and will be located at 2, High Street near Market Place from June.....Launch date to be confirmed.

Businesses and shops of this nature will increase the towns potential to attract more people to Shepton Mallet and the area..... currently we have the following;

The town
* Jo Lucksted Ceramic Artist
* No21 Interior Antiques
* Woo Hoo Vintage
* Nostalgia at No1
* One Craft Gallery
* Somerset Antiques & Interiors 'coming soon!'
* Great Ostry Picture Framing
* The Art Tree
* Parkway Antiques
* The Shepton Cobbler ... Haberdashery, Craft materials

In close proximity to the town
* Morris Country Interiors
* Kilver Court -No21 Interior Antiques, Saul's Up-cycled and In The Woodshed
* Pylle Antique Emporium & Gallery
* Pennard House Antiques
* Bath & West Flea and Antique Markets

We are looking for more businesses! if you wish to join us in this exciting transformation please don't hesitate to contact info@no21.co.uk about shops and outlets available.
P.S attracting similar businesses does not equate to less sales for existing businesses ....it will bring more people to the area.

Bridgeman ltd are currently renovating the building for our new neighbours. We look forward to the arrival of 'Somerset Antiques and Interiors'

    You are so correct in your comment regarding bringing more people to the area. Shepton can quite easily become a destination for the artisan; interior; antique etc product. It just needs to do it well. Hay on Wye is a 'book destination' - all because some one did second hand books rather well some 40 years ago. Would it be possible to create some form of Shepton Festival which links creative businesses with the wider community and geographic area. There was something at Kilver Court last year which we went to but it seemed a tad too highbrow and arthouse for many. I still am Independent and I still Thank You For Your Votes.

    Thank you for your comment Andrew. I am actively looking for credible businesses who have an alternative offer to that of the large retail outlets, the only way is to go out and find them..... once we have a strong foundation of lifestyle shops to attract people to the town and area....who knows what alternative shops may come to town perhaps even a butchers?

    Yup - listen up Jon Thorners! I don't like travelling to Farrington Gurney for weird and wonderful meats!

    Susan, you don't have travel to Farrington. Try the deli in the High Street. Good stuff there - as at Croscombe Village Shop (which isn't Shepton but it is walkable).

    Re: Andrew's earlier remark - A summer festival period would be great - perhaps around Collet Day sort of time? It usually coincides with other events (in a good way). Some bunting, a few more events, special promotions etc. Could be amazing! I used to love the Medievil Fair that used to happen in Marketplace. That was a big thing when I was a boy - the whole town used to ascend on the marketplace and would usually get a chance to throw sponges at stalwarts/dignitaries like Don Clifford and Chris Challis. I can almost hear Jim Voisey shouting about it already...

    Perhaps Collet Day could spill out of the park, down Park Road and the High Street and into the Market Place. I can think of one or two folk for the sponges!
