Re Skate Park

I am grateful for Andrew's comments and take them on board. The blog site has not been used recently because of cuts to the youth service and he should speak to Andrea White (Youth Worker) about that. Yes, the possible sources of funding are ideas, since in my opinion until the issues of support from Town & District councils are resolved, the funding issues cannot be fully investigated, because as he rightly pointed out at the TC meeting, without their support/partnership we will get no funding! The 10% maintenance and future development funding is nothing more than good housekeeping which I recommended. It is an ideal, and not mandatory!

The above is from today's Eastern Daily Press. Three points

1. The report says that they need planning permission. Why is the situation different in Shepton?

2. They report that they have made an effort for females and older people.

3. There is a feature that reflects the heritage of the town. Worth considering for Shepton?

Very good report in the EDP and certainly shows that the Police, nationally support skate parks. As to planning permission, it appears we will not need this as the footprint for the proposed new skate park would not be expanding on the existing area. I am delighted to see they are making special efforts for females and older users - my report highlights the disparate groups of participants. I agree that the aspect of the town's heritage is vital.
