We are Shepton Mallet Caving Club!

Founded in 1949, the Shepton Mallet Caving Club (SMCC) is an active caving club based in the Mendips, Somerset, UK, and has a membership of around 100. Our headquarters, the Mineries, is based in the village of Priddy, just outside Wells.

SMCC has home and away meets each month and at least one overseas trip a year. Recent years have seen the club visit Romania, France and Thailand. Within the UK, the club visits Wales, Yorkshire and Derbyshire as well as having home meets on Mendip.

Welcome to Shepton Mallet People! I hope the site is useful to you and your members, and I hope you get even more people interested in your brilliant pursuit I very much enjoyed the pictures on your site - I was in the Peak's recently and really wanted to see what the muddy people appearing from the holes had seen. I have a 'girth incompatibility issue' unfortunately :)
