Shepton Mallet has lots of great places to eat, cutting edge businesses as well as a real sense of community - all against a beautiful rural backdrop. The park is fantastic, you are not too far from a few major shopping and nightlife locations, but just far enough away to be able to forget they are there when you so wish.
Shepton Mallet's residents form a few different groups - I would really like to see them come together and to start working together to work on the things that niggle everyone in the town. Car parking is a pain and lots of shops are empty. Most of what happens in the town is done by, and often for, a very small number of people and I believe this can change.
